Welcome

The Rockingham Kwinana region in the south-west of the Perth metropolitan area has long been recognised as a desirable place to live, work, play and invest.

The Rockingham Kwinana Development Office (RKDO) is a State Government initiative that brings together representatives from LandCorp, Department of Planning, City of Rockingham and Town of Kwinana.

The RKDO is now working hard to implement major infrastructure projects to help the region realise its full potential.

"The Flame"

You may notice an interesting and symbolic piece of artwork on the corner of Rockingham and Thomas Road.

The Town of Kwinana has unveiled "The Flame”, a 12 metre high aluminium sculpture, which symbolises the connection between industry and the community in the Kwinana area.

The RKDO has proudly made a financial contribution to the sculpture, which was matched by the Town of Kwinana and their sponsors.

The sculpture demonstrates the energy, spirit and vitality of the thriving region. In recent years we have seen Kwinana flourish with many exciting infrastructure projects underway to support the growing community.

The sculpture is just one of many beautification strategies planned for the Town of Kwinana. The area is currently undergoing a major transformation with the Town Centre Revitalisation making fantastic progress.

It is through strong partnerships such as the one between the Town of Kwinana and the RKDO that successful projects are able to be developed and carried through successfully.
